The date used in calculating entitlement to SAP is the start of the week in which the adopter is notified of the adoption match.  For this purpose a week starts on a Sunday. 

If the employee is a member of a couple who are adopting jointly, the employee must have elected to be the ‘adopter’ for adoption leave and SAP purposes.  The other member of the couple might be eligible for paternity leave and pay.  Adoption leave/pay and paternity leave/pay may not be taken by the same person in respect of the same adopted child.
